The Springfield Library is continuing to experience staffing difficulties and may not have their full open hours this week. However, if you have received stamps at all of the other 4CLS libraries, including Masonville, you can still earn your tote bag and be considered a 4CLS Road Trip finisher!
If you have any questions, please feel free to send us a message via social media, or email Sarah at sreid@4cls.org. We appreciate your understanding as we need to make this unexpected change.
4CLS Roadtrip
July 1 to September 2, 2023
We are excited that you’ve accepted the challenge of the 4CLS Road Trip! Now it’s time to see how many of our system’s amazing member libraries you can visit by the end of the summer! You can start the road trip at any time- just stop by one of our libraries and pick up a brochure!
The Four County Library System is made up of 42 libraries across Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties. Be sure to check out each library's page to see their address, hours, unique facts about their library, as well as local points of interest in their community!
When you visit a library, stop by the front desk and ask for a Road Trip stamp (or look for the stamping station), and then explore the library and its surrounding area! At Milestone Stops (10, 20, 30 and 42 libraries), you'll also be eligible to pick up a prize! There's more information on the prizes on this page.
You can find the Four County Library System on Facebook and Instagram. As you visit libraries, please tag any social media posts with #4CLSroadtrip.
Tell the staff if your visit is a Milestone Stop to receive a prize:
10th library – I Love My Library! Magnet
20th library – Moptopper Keychain
30th library – Reading Journal
42nd library – Tote Bag
What are the Road Trip dates?
The Road Trip begins on Saturday, July 1st and ends on Saturday, September 2nd. You can begin the Road Trip at any time after July 1 and before September 2.
Does each individual need their own brochure for stamps?
No, families and groups traveling together are welcome to share one brochure to collect their stamps. Each individual is still eligible for their own prize.
Do I have to visit the libraries in any particular order?
Not at all! You can start the Road Trip at any one of the Four County Library System member libraries and go in whatever order you'd like!
Do I need a library card to participate in the Road Trip?
You don't need a library card to participate in the Road Trip, but we bet you'll want to sign up for one after seeing all the wonderful libraries in our system!
What do I do when I arrive at a library?
When you visit a library, stop by the front desk and ask for a Road Trip stamp (or look for the stamping station), and then explore the library and its surrounding area! At Milestone Stops (10, 20, 30 and 42 libraries), you'll also be eligible to pick up a prize!
How do I get my prizes?
At your Milestone Stops (10th library visited, 20th library visited, 30th library visited and 42nd library visited), you'll be eligible to pick up a prize! Prizes will be available at all libraries. If the library is temporarily out of the prize, you can receive one at your next stop, or return to that library after their prizes have been replenished.
How can I share my adventures on social media?
We'd love to see the photos from your Road Trip travels! Be sure to use the hashtag #4CLSRoadTrip on your posts so we can like them! You can find the Four County Library System on Facebook and Instagram.
What do I do if I lose my brochure?
If you lose your brochure, ask the library staff at your next stop for a new one, and let them know which libraries you'd already visited so they can stamp those stops too.
It says you have 42 libraries, but I see 43 libraries listed!
The Sidney Memorial Public Library has one library branch in Masonville. You're welcome to visit both libraries, but you'll only need to visit one of them to count as a visit to Sidney!
The Four County Library System also has a Bookmobile that travels throughout the counties every month. For an extra stamp (and a special prize!) you can visit the Bookmobile at one of its monthly stops. You can find out more information about the Bookmobile and its routes here.
Thank you for participating in the 2023 4CLS Road Trip! We'd love to hear about your experience so that we can use your feedback for future event planning.
